January 18

This past weekend’s road trip to the lower mainland was a big success for the Kamloops Vibe, with 2 wins and 2 ties, but it wasn’t with out its share of adventure.  With flat tires on a Sunday in a strange city, being at the wrong arena at game time, and of course major vehicle trouble on the way down.

Jay and Chelsey took their truck down with all the team’s gear in it and just past Merritt while climbing the Coldwater hill their transmission decided to pack it in.  Some quick phone calls got a tow truck on route, as well as Chelsey’s dad and Jays parents out on a rescue mission.  The tow truck, Chelsey’s Dad, Alvin, and Jay’s parents, Bill and Ann, all arrived about the same time to transfer the gear to Alvin’s truck and they all were back on the road within a couple of hours.  The gear made it to the first game just in time to beat the Killarney Knights 2-1

The Kamloops Vibe would like to thank Jay and Chelsey for packing our gear around, Bill and Ann Schmietenknop for coming to our rescue, and Alvin Hickey for coming out and the use of his truck for the weekend.  Without all their quick support we would not have made the first game.

Alvin’s company, Progressive Air Services, is also one of our main sponsors, thank you for your continued support.
